Scarecrow Event Flickr!

I'm trying to do something with our Koreshan Pointe flickr group that I made and promptly forgot about. Here are some of the scarecrows people have put together from the hidden parts all over the sim.

If you have pictures that you took in Koreshan and would like to add them to the group pool, go here and join!

おこた

おこた [okota] -a blanketed table with a heater underneath.

There is a store in Koenji that I have seriously been visiting everyday waiting for it to be open simply because it looked cool from the outside. See it does ----->

Today I went there and store owner Xiavy Voom, had some stuff out! Really nice messenger bags and hoodies with rabbit ears, but the thing that I really dig is the Okota.

You get 3 colors, a gray one (Skull), a pinkish one (Kenran) and the multi colored one you see pictured which is called Pop.

The table has 4 seats and each one has it's own pose. The blanket conforms to your body when you sit. It's freezing where I love IRL and just looking at this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

You can get these at the Overdrive store in Koenji. Just from the few items Xiavy has out I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite stores to visit. Check it out. ^_^

PS- Scarecrow event is going on in Koreshan until Wednesday. Don't miss it! :3
*I used my toy camera hud when I was taking these snapshots, sorry if they are distracting.

Scarecrow Workshop is go!

Koreshan's build a scarecrow workshop is now on! From the 26th to the 31st the talented designers of Koreshan Pointe will have out their own unique scarecrow parts that you can scavenge the sim to find. Bring your finds to the workshop area and, with the base provided, assemble your unique Halloween display. Bring your friends and have a happy Halloween! This is an ongoing event all day every day until the 31st.

The obligatory Halloween post

Just when I thought I was going to recycle last years skelekitty costume, Toast Bard put out these amazing skins for halloween. You can get these at her Fashionably Dead satellite store in Cotton Candy Mall ( Russel Bay (222, 221, 27). They are on the back wall in the bottom vendor, which has some non halloween items in it.

These skins are made for girls, but I like them too! (Under the condition that I keep my shirt on at all times.) The above skin is called Head Off! It comes with eyes, skin, a gross neck attactment and a jacket layer of blood. It's a really nice sallow color that screams "I've been dead for a while and probably smell like rot and maggots. :D

The other skin I purchased there was Frozen. This comes with eyes, skin, and an attachment which gives you cold breath and makes you shiver and rub your upper arms.

I really dig this skin. It makes me think about Akira Kurosawa's movie "Dreams."

There are two stories in it that this skin reminds me of: The Tunnel and The Blizzard. Mostly because in the blizzard there is snow and in the Tunnel there are creepy blue soldiers. Yeah... it really has nothing to do with the skin, but the movie is great and I recommend it.

All in all I am insanely happy with my new skins. There are two other skins I didn't pick up, a witch and a Frankenstein girl (who came with a Frankenstein dog.)

Now, as I started before these are girl skins. I'm a femmy guy so that doesn't stop me from buying anything. If you really would like to see something scary though, here is a picture of me with my shirt off in Headless.
That's hot.
Boob shading ftw!

Jamaican Jerk BBQ

The Yummy of today is Jamaican Jerk BBQ. You can do this with Chicken or Pork but I have also heard of good results in beef and fish. Now this is traditionally done over a grill or bbq pit but you can also use an indoor grill (like a foreman), or even a broiler.

Another thing I want to mention is that this recipe calls for scotch bonnet (aka habanero) peppers. They are HOT! If you prefer less heat to your food then please use another type of pepper. Also be very carefully when handling the habaneros. Their juice and seeds can burn and will burn your eyes if you rub your face after cutting one. So just be careful :)

Tools:

Knife
Grill or broiler
large bowl
Whisk
2qt or larger Pot
cutting board

Ingredients:

1 tbl ground allspice
1 tbl dried thyme
1 1/2 tbs cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tbs pepper
1 1/2 tbs ground sage
3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbs garlic (garlic powder can be used but fresh is better)
1 tbs sugar
1/4 cup oil (olive is best)
1/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup orange juice
1 Lime juiced
1 tomato
1 Scotch bonnet pepper (habanero)
3-4 Green onions finely chopped
1 small onion finely chopped
4 to 6 chicken breasts or pork chops
1 box rice (10 min boil in bags make things easy!)
vegetable of choice (I used cream spinach from the freezer isle but you can use whatever)

Directions:

Carefully seed and finely chop the habanero and trim the fat and icky bits from the chicken breasts/pork. In large bowl mix allspice, thyme, cayenne pepper, pepper, sage, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, garlic powder and sugar. Slowly whisk in olive oil, say sauce, vinegar, orange juice, and lime juice. Add habanero and onion, mix. Finally add your chicken or pork. Cover the bowl and let the meat marinade for at least 1 hour. Overnight (or all day if you make it in the morning) is better.

Prepare the rice by the directions on the box.

Start up your grill or broiler. Cook meat about 6 min on each side. Baste with marinade while it cooks to keep the meat from drying out. You can boil the leftover marinade in a sauce pan to server on the side as dipping sauce.

Plate up and enjoy! Wine pairings for this spicy dish is difficult. You need something that can muscle the heat into submission. I'd go with a strong Cotes du Rhone Villages or a Crozes Hermitage.

Creation Manna: Stuff so good that I purchased it with money.

I take no credit for this, it's Krius' find.

Creations Manna is awesome. I need a better word than awesome to describe the things I found there. They are fantastic, excellent... Awesometasticellent.

I bought the Montmarte belt (shown above, to the left, and buckle detail be.) In a world of belts with crap attached to them, I was attracted to this because it's beautifully made, textured and I like art. It brings back the memory of lovely turpentine smells that probably made me brain damaged my freshman year of college. (Ventilation is your friend.)
The sizing claims it's for ladies but it's also for small male nekos with fat asses.

Miam-sushis is a lunchbox bag I bought there that is pictured to the right. Also said for ladies (there may have been a "for men" one. Memory brain cells died that freshman year ) but it fits me well and I'm of the normal/small build type.
You can see the sushi in the bag, that's not a texture, that's prim sushi. It's no mod and why should it be? Everything on it was made with such detail and care that accidentally breaking it would be pretty devastating.

And this concludes my blogging of Creations Manna. It pains me to share this awesome find as I'm sure everyone and their grannie will also love these, but it's too "Awesometasticellent" to go unnoticed by the masses.

Rejoice! A cute thing

I was wandering around Osaka, as I do often when bored. There is a little market there that sells tinies which is where I found this avatar. He's excellent and kind of looks like my best friend Cat when she's pissy.

You can purchase an optional pumpkin hat for extra cuteness and or camouflage.
